"Clean Eating"
What is meant by this increasingly popular trend?
Clean eating stands for conscious and healthy eating without complicated and controversial rules. Basically, any food is allowed. It just depends on how you eat it: food should be fresh, unprocessed and free of additives.
If you want to eat "clean", prepare as much as possible yourself:
- Baking bread with whole grains
- Process fresh fruit into spreads or smoothies
Only white flour and table sugar are rejected by the nutritional concept. Instead, wholemeal flour and alternative sweeteners such as maple syrup are used. Salt is used sparingly.
How difficult is it to eat “clean”?
What was previously bought is gradually being prepared by ourselves.
But of course not everyone can bake their own bread every day. But you can start by replacing the flavored fruit yogurt with natural yogurt with fresh fruit and honey. Basically, it's about avoiding heavily processed, sweet and fatty industrial products. "Clean eating" therefore begins with shopping.
With simple ingredients, you can quickly cook "clean" meals. How about soup or stew, for example, with local cabbage varieties in the cold season? Buying fruit and vegetables according to the season is also good for your wallet :)
